Classic ASP Migration Rules

Feb 7, 2012 at 1:35 PM

We are in the process of migrating from a classic ASP site to Orchard CMS.  I was hoping I could use this module to handle any Google-indexed links for the ".asp" pages and direct users to their comparable Orchard CMS page.  For example, www.mysite.com/aboutus.asp -> www.mysite.com/about-us

I am working with v1.25 of the module using the simulator page with the following rule...

RewriteRule /aboutus.asp /about-us

When I run the simulator I am getting, "The url doesn't match any rule.".

Could someone please tell me if I am able to use this module for this purpose and if there is something wrong with my rule?

Thanks,
Brian

After looking through a few more examples, I believe I found the anwer to my question...

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /aboutus.asp [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/about-us [R=301]
I am not that familiar with how .htaccess files work but I think it's starting to click.
Thanks,

OK, so I thought the above code would work but I ended up putting my site into a redirect loop.  Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Brian
